Eco-friendly, high polymer modified, lightweight tile adhesive for vitrified tiles in interior and all types of absorbent ceramic & porcelain tiles in interior & exterior.
What Makes Smart Plus
Stand Out
The first adhesive in its class with improved tensile adhesion beyond C1 requirements — plus lightweight, eco-friendly formulation for green buildings.
First in class 1 category with improved tensile adhesion ≥ 1.0 N/mm² — exceeds EN C1 TE standard requirements.
Very low VOC, recycled raw material, 100% recyclable after expiry — suitable for all types of green and certified buildings.
Light weight formulation reduces structural load — ideal for wall applications, especially on upper floors and facades.
≥ 30 minutes open time and > 30 minutes adjustability — allows repositioning of large format tiles without rush.
Fully thixotropic formula ensures zero slippage on walls — ideal for large format wall tiles in bathroom and lobby areas.
~60 sq ft per 20 kg bag at 3mm thickness. Minimum 3mm, maximum 10mm — high coverage with minimum material.
No water curing required after tile fixing — saves time, water and effort on site. Single component, just add water.
Absorbent porcelain tiles of big size on walls can be fixed with ease in areas such as bathrooms, lobbies and facades.
Technologies
Proprietary High Grip formulation ensures maximum initial tack and prevents tile slippage on walls — even with large format tiles under gravity load.
High polymer modification significantly improves tensile adhesion, flexibility and durability over standard OPC-based mortars — exceeds EN C1 TE class requirements.
Product Not to Be Used
Smart Plus is engineered for absorbent surfaces. For the following applications, use the recommended Wallnut alternative.
Where Smart Plus Performs
Wall and floor tiles in standard bathrooms, wet rooms and shower enclosures — interior and exterior.
Large format absorbent porcelain and ceramic tiles on walls in lobbies, corridors and commercial interiors.
All types of interior vitrified, GVT and PGVT floor tiles in residential and commercial buildings.
Guaranteed fixing for all types and sizes of absorbent ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles and mosaic in interior and exterior.
Suitable for stable natural marble on interior floors — high polymer formula provides reliable bond.
Low VOC, recycled raw materials and recyclable after expiry — fully compliant for LEED and other green building certifications.
How to Use Smart Plus
- Fully dry and sound new or old traditional plaster (cement sand render)
- New or old absorbent IPS or PCC floors which are sound and stable
- Absorbent concrete surfaces
- Traditional cement:sand screed or screed made with Zeorich Base or similar
- All types of absorbent ceramic & porcelain tiles
- Vitrified tiles (GVT / PGVT) — interior use
- Stable natural marble in interior floors
- Large format absorbent tiles on walls
- Ceramic mosaic tiles
- Ensure plaster/screed is sound, clean and free from oil, grease and dust
- If surface is uneven >10mm, level first with correct levelling material
- Alternatively, apply a thin coat of Smart Plus and wait 24 hours before tiling
- Splash clean water onto dry surface and let it surface-dry to improve workability
- In external environments, cool the surface before applying — hot surfaces compromise performance
- For large areas, provide movement joints every 3 metres or as per local standard
- Grey bag: add approx. 5.25 litres of clean water per 20 kg bag
- White bag: add approx. 5.5 litres of clean water per 20 kg bag
- Use a slow-speed electric stirrer — manual mixing compromises performance
- Adjust water quantity as per ambient temperature and surface dryness
- Final mix must be a uniform, workable paste
- Do not add extra water once mixed — use within pot life (>2 hours)
- Spread adhesive 3–10mm thick onto cement surface using appropriate notch trowel (6×6mm or 10×10mm)
- Fix tiles before skin formation — press firmly with a twisting motion
- For large format tiles, also apply adhesive to back of tile (buttering)
- Leave uniform joints between tiles for grouting and movement accommodation
- Allow 24 hours before grouting — use C&L Lite Grout or C&L Epoxy Grout
- Walking on floor: after 24 hours. Normal use of surface: after 2 weeks
Ideal working range +5°C to +35°C. Above 35°C, avoid use under direct sun. Below 5°C, initial and final setting times will be affected.
Pot life is >2 hours after mixing. Open time is ≥30 minutes — take advantage of extended adjustability for large format tile work.
Use 6×6mm notch trowel for small tiles; 10×10mm for large format tiles. Always match trowel to tile size for correct bed thickness.
Initial set: 6–8 hrs. Final set: 24 hrs. Full strength at 28 days. Final resistance –30°C to +80°C after 28 days cure.
Once bags are open, entire material must be consumed within 24 hours. Do not use over expansion joints. Ensure surface is not contaminated before application.
