How to Use Luster
- Tiles must be fully set — minimum 24 hours
- Clean joints of adhesive, dust and debris
- Minimum joint width: 2mm for best gloss effect
- Pre-wet joints on porous substrates
- Add Luster powder to clean water at W/P ratio ~0.30
- Mix with slow-speed stirrer to smooth, creamy consistency
- Slake 5 minutes then re-stir
- Use within pot life — do not add water to extend
- Apply with rubber grout float at 45° angle
- Press firmly into joints — fill completely for best gloss
- Remove excess immediately with barely damp sponge
- Work in manageable sections
- After initial set (30–60 min), lightly buff tile surface with dry cloth
- This removes any residue and brings out the gloss in joints
- Final polish with clean dry cloth for maximum sheen
- Do not use wet sponge for final polish — reduces gloss
- Light foot traffic after 24 hours
- Full strength and gloss at 7 days
- Avoid heavy cleaning for first 7 days
Ideal working temperature +5°C to +35°C. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures during application.
Always ensure the substrate is clean, dry and structurally sound before application.
Lift a tile to verify adhesive coverage — minimum 65% floor, 80% exterior and wet areas.
Mix only what can be used within the pot life. Do not add water to extend working time.
For maximum gloss finish, final polishing of the joint with a dry cloth is essential. Avoid over-wetting during cleaning — this reduces the gloss effect.
